EO/AA<br/><br/>Performs radiographic procedures involving the application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- Performs radiographic procedures; critiques radiographs and images to maintain quality control program.<br/>- Selects film, adjusts and programs a variety of film changes, including cinefluorography, and may develop films.<br/>- Coordinates the activities for the technical services in the operating room and the portable x-ray area.<br/>- Maintains the necessary precautions for excessive exposure to radiation and electric shock.<br/>- Assesses patient vital signs and condition when indicated during exams.<br/>- Reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.<br/>- May assist in orienting new employees or students regarding workflow and procedures of the department.<br/>- Prepares, cleans and stocks rooms with supplies and linens.<br/>- May participate on department and hospital committees; and provide in-service training to hospital staff.<br/><br/><b>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</b><br/><br/>- Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.<br/>- Ability to provide care to the population served.<br/>- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding the patient&#8217;s status and provide care as described in the department&#8217;s policies and procedures manual.<br/>- Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.<br/>- Ability to select proper cassette size, exposure factors and correct any exposure and imaging problems.<br/>- Ability to prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the needs of the physicians.<br/><br/><b>Qualifications:</b><br/><br/>- Required license(s):<br/>- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card through American Heart Association or obtain within one month of hire.<br/>- Current licensure to practice as a Radiologic Technologist in the State of Utah.<br/>- ARRT Registration as a Radiologic Technician R.T. EO/AA<br/><br/>This position is responsible for performing clerical functions for a patient care unit, facilitating the flow of information between medical staff and departments to maximize unit efficiency. Provides administrative input regarding the internal operations of the department.<br/><br/>This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.<br/><br/><b>Responsibilities:</b><br/><br/>- Provides communication to hospital staff, patients, families, and visitors.<br/>- Provides guidance to care providers on how to enter patient orders into the computer system.<br/>- Processes paperwork to order medical treatments and tests; collects/complies/retrieves patient's test and lab results.<br/>- Locates physicians for nursing staff and contacts physicians to communicate appropriate patient care information.<br/>- Orders, stocks and maintains clerical and patient supplies.<br/>- Contributes to the development of unit standards to enhance the efficiency of the department&#8217;s paperwork maintenance.<br/>- Transfers information to patient kardex, nurse charts, patient assignment list, lab, x-ray and other unit boards.<br/>- In the event of a computer downtime, process paper orders.
